Skill Development
From skills to self-reliance
How practical vocational learning can open doors to employment, home-based work and greater independence for women.
Alina Parmartham Foundation

A practical skill can be the starting point for a new livelihood. Through Project Hunar, Alina Parmartham Foundation focuses on stitching, tailoring and beauty training for women and adolescent girls.
These skills can be used in employment, self-employment or home-based work. Practical learning helps participants explore ways to contribute to household incomes while developing confidence in their abilities.
Learning a skill is one step; finding opportunities to use it is another. The foundation’s wider work in entrepreneurship and market access connects this learning with pathways towards sustainable livelihoods.
